Scotty's Bio:

Scotty was born October 9, 1993. He lives in Garner, NC with his parents Mike and Judy. He has one sisSter named Ashley. He has a dog named Becky that he loves very much. Scotty has loves music since an early age. His music influence came from Elvis. He loved to sing and perform Elvis songs when he was just a toddler. He also learned to play the guitar at an early age. He was in several local singing competitions and won them. Scotty professed his christianity many times during the competition and is a huge NC State fan.

His mother convinced him to try out for American Idol, so He and his mom went to Milwaukee to audition. Scotty won the tenth season of American Idol which made him the youngest male to win the title at age seventeen. More than 122 milion votes were cast during the season finale. He was also the first country singer to win the competition since season 4.

His first album, Clear As Day debuted No.1 on the Billboard Top 200, making him the youngest male in history to be at the top of an all genre chart with a debut release. This also made him the first male country American Idol winner to reach #1 on the Billboard 200. Scotty wanted this album to be about his life experiences and each song says a little about his life. Scotty also won New Artist of the Year in 2011 and 2012 at the American Country Awards and Academy of Country Music Awards. Scotty has since written a book called “Go Big Or Go Home” about his life experience thus far.
